Tuesday evening study group

We're currently working with Shitou Xiqian's 8th century Chan poem "Taking Part in the Gathering" (also known by its Japanese title of "Sandokai," by "Sekito").

We'll also be reading Shunryu Suzuki Roshi's talks on the poem, published as Branching Streams Flow in the Darkness: Zen Talks on the Sandokai.

Previous Tuesday evening activities:
  • study of the Heart Sutra
  • Precepts study (in preparation for our refuge ceremony in March 2018)
  • study of The Gateless Gate koan collection
  • beginning meditation group

Our Tuesday Evening Study Group meets first, third, and (when there is one) fifth Tuesdays of the month, from 6:30-7:30 at Little Chapel.

Following our meetings, optional Work in the Room with Tenney will be available (by appointment).

Questions? you can email drz@desertrainzen.org or phone 520-235-1267.

Upcoming meetings:
